The sulfur dioxide emissions of the said volcano has risen, meaning that there is continuous activity inside the volcano. The report came after the absence of rockfall incidents and volcanic earthquakes, which means that the volcano is now gathering pressure, thus raising the possibility of explosion. Albay Governor Joey Salceda reminds everyone, especially tourists to stay away from the volcano and its danger zones. Mayon continues to exhibit abnormal activity while the local government conducts forced evacuation of residents in areas near the volcano. In the past 24 hours, PHIVOLCS recorded more rockfall incidents and volcanic earthquakes.
