3.8-magnitude quake jolts Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Tuesday, Dec. 25. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 5:32 a.m. The epicenter of the quake–which was tectonic in origin and had a dept of focus of 6 kilometers —was located 8 kilometers northwest of Calubian. The town and Naval in Biliran felt an Intensity III tremor, while Bogo and Ormoco felt an Intensity I tremor. No damage nor aftershocks were  expected.  

Big improvement in Leyte economy noted, five years after supertyphoon Yolanda

4.3-magnitude quake jolts Leyte early Wednesday

(Eagle News) — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Leyte early Wednesday. The quake–which was of tectonic origin—took place eight kilometers northwest of Kananga, at 1 a.m. Depth of focus was at 8 kilometers. An Intensity IV was felt in Capoocan and Palompon, Leyte; and an Intensity II in Cebu City. On Tuesday afternoon, Albuera Leyte, was jolted by a 3.7-magnitude quake that was felt at an Intensity IV in Ormoc City.
