(Eagle News) — A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Tawi-Tawi on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 4:51 p.m. It had its epicenter 311 kilometers southeast of South Ubian. The depth of focus was 541 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.  

4.2-magnitude quake hits Isabela

(Eagle News) — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Isabela on Tuesday, Oct. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:31 a.m. It had its epicenter three kilometers northwest of Cordon. The depth of focus was one kilometer. The following intensities were reported: Intensity IV – Diadi, Nueva Vizcaya Intensity III – Cordon, Isabela; Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya Intensity II – Aglipay, Quirino No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.3-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News) — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday, Sept. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 6:32 a.m. It had its epicenter 496 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. The depth of focus was 175 kilometers. PHIVOLCS said the quake was of tectonic origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

4.8-magnitude quake strikes off Sulu early Friday, Sept. 24

(Eagle News) — A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Sulu early Friday, Sept. 24. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 5:14 a.m. It had its epicenter 336 kilometers southeast of Banguingui. The depth of focus was 598 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

A shallow 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck off the west coast of Nicaragua early Wednesday, the US Geological Survey said, but there was no risk of a tsunami. The quake hit 48 miles (78 kilometers) southwest of Jiquilillo, the USGS said, revising down its initial measurement of 6.7 magnitude.
