(Eagle News)–A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes on Sunday, August. 13 The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 9:43 a.m. The epicenter was 38 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. The depth of focus was 10 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Intensity I – Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte No damage to property was reported. Aftershocks, however, are expected.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 1:59 a.m. It had its epicenter 14 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, and a depth of 105 kilometers. It was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 116 kilometers southeast of Basco at 3:47 a.m. It had a depth of one kilometer, and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:17 a.m., had its epicenter 65 kilometers southeast of Sabtang. It had a depth of one kilometer. PHIVOLCS said the quake was of tectonic origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 6:32 a.m., had its epicenter 49 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. The earthquake was of tectonic origin, and had a depth of 14 kilometers. No damage to property was expected but aftershocks were.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said in its its bulletin on Sunday, Feb. 16, that the quake struck at 1:57 p.m. It had its epicenter 93 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. Depth of focus was 3 kilometers.
