ANINI-Y, Antique (Eagle News) – A magnitude-4.4 earthquake shook Antique on Wednesday morning, July 26. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the center of the quake was recorded at 37 kilometers southeast of Anini-y, Antique. It is tectonic in origin and has a depth of eight kilometers. Intensity 2 was recorded in San Jose de Buenavista, the capital of Antique. The quake was also felt in Iloilo.

Dahil sa ipinamalas na kagalingan sa pagbibigay ng karangalan sa lalawigan ng Antique, pinarangalan ng lokal ng pamahalan ng nasabing lalawigan ang isang labing limang taong gulang sa pagkakakuha ng Grand award in Life Science. Pinarangalan din si Attorney Irene Mae Alcobilla na naging topnotch sa 2015 BAR Examination.
Inilunsad sa lalawigan ng Antique ang isang programa na tinawag na Kapulisan at Komunidad Kontra Droga (KKK) upang solusyunan ang problema sa ipinagbabawal na gamot sa nasabing lalawigan.
Tuwang-tuwa ang mga residente ng Antique ng ianunsyo ng kanilang gobernador ang pagbubukas ng bagong roll-on, roll-off port sa nasabing lalawigan.
