Duterte sacks MWSS administrator Velasco

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has sacked Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System administrator Reynaldo Velasco. In a speech on Friday, May 24, Duterte said Velasco will  be replaced by retired general  Ricardo Morales. Velasco’s dismissal came almost two months after a water shortage  gripped Manila Water customers in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Duterte had threatened to dismiss MWSS officials and end water concessionaires’ contracts if the water shortage was not resolved.
