S. China Sea dispute on agenda in Duterte-Abe meeting in Tokyo next week

(Eagle News)–The South China Sea dispute is on the agenda when President Rodrigo Duterte meets Japan Prime Minister  Abe Shinzo next week.

This is according to Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Meynardo Montealegre, who held a press conference on Friday, May 24.

He said the two leaders will meet on the sidelines of the the 25th Nikkei Conference on the Future of Asia on May 31 in Tokyo.

According to Montealegre, the President is also expected to speak at the 25th Nikkei Conference, which will be attended by government and business leaders.

This will have been Duterte’s third visit to Japan when he became president.
