The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit two kilometers southeast of Lope de Vega at 7:37 a.m. Depth of focus was 90 kilometers. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity III – Lope de Vega, Catarman and Mondragon, Northern Samar Intensity II – San Roque and Pambujan, Northern Samar No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
