Newly appointed Chief Justice Peralta shuffles assignments in High Court

(Eagle News)–Newly appointed Chief Justice Diosdado Peralta has shuffled justices’ assignments in the three divisions of the High Court.

According to Special Order No. 2724, the Chief Justice shall sit as chair of the first division, whose working chair was Justice Alfredo Caguioa, and members are Justices Jose Reyes Jr., Amy Lazaro-Javier and Henri Jean Paul Inting.

In the second division, Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe shall sit as chair, with division members  Justices Andres Reyes Jr., Ramon Paul Hernando, Rodil Zalameda and Inting.

Justice Marvic Leonen shall sit as chair of the third division, whose members are Justices Alexander Gesmundo, Rosmari Carandang, Zalameda and Lazaro-Javier.

The order signed by Peralta said the reorganization was “in the interest of the service.”

Peralta replaced as chief justice Lucas Bersamin, who recently retired after reaching the mandatory age of retirement of 70. With a report from Moira Encina
