Surigao del Sur under yellow warning level

(Eagle News)–A yellow warning level has been hoisted over Surigao del Sur. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said this means  flooding in flood-prone areas is possible. Meanwhile, heavy rains are affecting New Bataan, Maragusan, Pantukan, Mabini in Davao de Oro. PAGASA said these may persist for two to three hours.

3.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:59 a.m., had its epicenter 171 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 50 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
