3.5-magnitude quake hits Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, Feb. 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:02 a.m., had its epicenter 12 kilometers southwest of Paluan. It had a depth of focus of 3 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said activity in the main crater in the past 24 hours has been characterized by weak emission of steam-laden plumes rising 50 to 100 meters high.
