MRT-3 announces suspension of operations from April 13 to 17

(Eagle News) — The Metro Rail Transit-3 announced a suspension of operations for five days in April. The MRT-3 said the suspension is scheduled from April 13 to 17. It said the suspension of operations was to pave the way for annual preventive maintenance activities. Normal operations will resume on April 18. Metro Manila is under a COVID-19 alert level 1. The Department of Transportation is now allowing a 100% capacity in public transportation.

UN adopts resolution promoting bicycles to combat climate change

5.3-magnitude quake strikes off Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News) –A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, March 16. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake that hit at 8:09 a.m. was an aftershock of the 6.4-magnitude quake that struck Lubang on March 14. The epicenter of Tuesday’s quake was 82 kilometers northwest of Lubang. The depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
