2.3-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 2.3-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Thursday, April 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 11 kilometers northeast of General Luna at 5:30 a.m. The quake, of tectonic origin, has a depth of focus of 23 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

2.0-magnitude earthquake hits Sorsogon

(Eagle News)–A 2.0-magnitude earthquake hit Sorsogon on Wednesday, April 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 9 kilometers northeast of Bulan at 5:16 a.m. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

3.2-magnitude quake jolts Batangas

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Tuesday, April 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 18 kilometers southwest of Nasugbu at 5:47 p.m. The depth of focus was 113 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

Another suspect in Silawan slay nabbed

Authorities, however, refused to divulge any information about the identity of the suspect, who is in police custody. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 40 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 6:35 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 192 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershovks were expected.

Forty bricks of suspected cocaine found off Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)—Forty bricks of suspected cocaine were found floating off the waters of Burgos, Surigao del Norte on Sunday, April 7. (Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake hit Batanes on Monday, April 8. The quake struck 3 kilometers south of Basco at 10:59 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 16 kilometers. An Intensity IV was felt in Basco, PHIVOLCS said. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

2.7-magnitude quake hits Quezon

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 62 kilometers northeast of Patnanungan at 9:01 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 11 kilometers.
