Forty bricks of suspected cocaine found off Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)—Forty bricks of suspected cocaine were found floating off the waters of Burgos, Surigao del Norte on Sunday, April 7.

Police said the suspected illegal drugs were found in floating boxes by fishermen at 4:30 p.m.

The suspected cocaine has been turned over to the Burgos municipal police station.

President Rodrigo Duterte has said international crime syndicates were behind the illegal drugs found off Philippine waters recently.

Authorities have said they would intensify their patrolling in the seas following the discoveries.
