3.5-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Wednesday, June 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 65 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 10:55 a.m. Depth of focus was 92 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

4.1-magnitude quake hits Masbate

  (Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Wednesday, June 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 14 kilometers southwest of Batuan at 7:02 a.m. The depth of focus was 6 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 145 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 6:20 a.m. Depth of focus was 118 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded    

President Duterte reclassifies Clark IE5 as int’l center of commerce, logistics, recreation

(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte has reclassified the Clark Industrial Estate 5 in Pampanga as an international center for commerce, aviation, logistics, industry, leisure and recreation. Duterte made the reclassification of the 290-hectare land, which was classified only as a  logistics center, through Executive Order 81 he signed on  June 4. DOJ: Oriental Mindoro prosecutor attacked; sustains five gunshot wounds in head, body

(Eagle News)–The Oriental Mindoro provincial prosecutor was shot  on Monday, June 10, Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said. Perete said Josephine Caranto-Olivar was attacked as she entered her house. He said all in all, Caranto-Olivar sustained  five gunshot wounds–two in the head and three in the body. (Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Monday, June 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 103 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 6:08 a.m. Depth of focus was 37 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.9-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental early Sunday, June 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 122 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 4:34 a.m. Depth of focus was 29 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

(Eagle News)–A yellow alert is in effect over the  Luzon grid on Saturday, June 8.
