(Eagle News)–The Oriental Mindoro provincial prosecutor was shot on Monday, June 10, Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said.
Perete said Josephine Caranto-Olivar was attacked as she entered her house.
He said all in all, Caranto-Olivar sustained five gunshot wounds–two in the head and three in the body.
He said she had to undergo a CT scan for the wounds, and will have to undergo an operation for the wounds in the body.
“The Department calls on our law enforcement authorities to investigate this incident that those responsible may be held to account before the law,” Perete said.
“In the meantime, we ask for prayers for the safety of PP Olivar and her family,” he added.
