MMDA: Bus terminals along Edsa to be closed in June

(Eagle News)–Bus terminals along Edsa will be closed in June, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said on Tuesday, March 26. According to Jojo Garcia, MMDA general manager, the decision, aimed at reducing congestion in the major thoroughfare,  was reached during a Metro Manila Council meeting the day before. He said a dryrun with the closed bus terminals will be held after the long holiday  in April.

(Eagle News)–These pictures posted on the Department of Transportation’s Facebook account show the Land Transportation Office’s IDeROBOT, which is in charge of manufacturing license plates, in action. IDeROBOT, according to the DOTr, can manufacture around 700 license plates each hour. This is equivalent to 5600 license plates produced in one eight-hour shift. The equipment can be found in the Land Transportation Office’s plate-making facility in Quezon City.  

MWSS asked to cancel Manila Water’s recently approved rate hike

Several BPI electronic, ATM services unavailable from April 5 to 7

(Eagle News)–Some electronic and automated teller machine services of the Bank of the Philippine Islands will be unavailable from April 5 to 7. BPI said the online banking, mobile app, Bizlink platform, ATMs and cash accept machines, and debit and prepaid card services will be temporarily unavailable from 10 p.m.  of Friday, April 5, to 5 a.m. of April 7, Sunday. Junjun Binay’s former executive assistant passes away after being shot in Makati

(Eagle News)–The former executive assistant of ex-Makati Mayor Junjun Binay has died. Binay said  Monette Bernardo, 44, succumbed to the gunshot wound she sustained when she was attacked last Thursday. 7-year-old boy injured in Valenzuela fire

(Eagle News)–A 7-year-old boy was hurt after a fire hit a residential area in Valenzuela on Friday, March 22. Authorities have yet to identify the boy who suffered first-degree burns in the fire that razed  Sitio Libis General T. de Leon around 10:20 a.m. The blaze reached the fifth alarm. It was put out past noon. Fire authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blaze, and the cost of damage to property.
