Number-coding scheme suspended from April 17 to 22

(Eagle News)—The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has suspended the number-coding scheme from April 17 to 22. MMDA chair Danilo Lim made the announcement in a Facebook post on Monday, April 15. Lim also urged motorists to take extra precautions. Authorities are gearing up for the outflux of travelers as they go on vacation this week.  

DOTr: Over P500 million worth of fuel subsidy cards distributed to PUJ franchise owners

(Eagle News)—Over P500 million worth of fuel subsidy cards have been distributed to jeepney franchise owners under the government’s Pantawid Pasada Program, the Department of Transportation said. According to the DOTr, the P511,145,000 worth of cards which translates to 102229 cards was as of April 11. Each card contains a P5000 fuel subsidy. The program was conceptualized to cushion the effects of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law.

Blaze destroys some vehicles in Manila traffic impounding area

(Eagle News)–Several vehicles caught fire at the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau  on Thursday, April 11. Authorities said the fire at the MTPB Impounding Extension Area on A. Mabini Street took place past 3 a.m. The cause of the fire, which was put out after a few minutes, has yet to be determined. Damage to property has also yet to be determined.    

No LRT-2 operations from April 18 to 21

MMDA announces 60 kph speed limit for EDSA, other major roads in Metro Manila
