3.5-magnitude quake hits Albay

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Albay on Thursday, Aug. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 16 kilometers northwest of Rapu-rapu at 3:03 a.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. An instrumental intensity II was felt in Legazpi City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Military: Chinese warships seen passing through PHL territorial waters anew

(Eagle News)–Chinese warships have been spotted passing through Philippine territorial waters anew, the military said on Wednesday, Aug. 14. Western Mindanao Command chief Lt. Gen.
