Cancelled flights on Sunday, Sept. 15

(Eagle News)–Several flights were canceled on Sunday, Sept. 15, due to bad weather. The Manila International Airport Authority said the following domestic flights have been cancelled: Cebu Pacific 5J 821 Manila – Virac 5J 822 Virac – Manila The Manila International Airport Authority said the southwest monsoon will bring rains to several parts of  Luzon and Visayas.

Former senator, Cebu gov. Rene Espina dies; Palace condoles with Espina’s kin

(Eagle News)–The Palace on Sunday, Sept. 15, condoled with the kin of former Senator and Cebu Governor Rene Espina, who recently passed away. 93 new airconditioning units installed in MRT-3 trains

(Eagle News)–The Department of Transportation has announced the installation of 93 new airconditioning units in Metro Rail Transit-3 trains. The DOTr said the units were apart from the 33 installed in August and the 60 installed in 2018. The agency said Sumitomo MHI-TESP  purchased over 120 airconditioning units worth P167 million under the comprehensive rehabilitation of the MRT-3. DOJ: Recommended revised IRR submitted to Guevarra, Año include transparency provisions, definition of heinous crimes

Drilon supports amending law to allow DOJ to have “direct control, supervision” over BuCor

(Eagle News)–Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon has expressed support for an amendment to Republic Act No. 10575, or the Bureau of Corrections Act of 2013, to allow the Department of Justice to have direct control and supervision over BuCor. DOJ: 505 convicts released under GCTA law have surrendered so far

(Eagle News)–Over 500 convicts released under the Good Conduct Time Allowance law have so far surrendered to authorities, the Department of Justice said. According to Justice Undersecretary and spokesperson Markk Perete, the 505 are in Bureau of Corrections custody.
