Lacson: High-profile inmates in control of Bilibid

(Eagle News)–Senator Panfilo Lacson on Sunday, Sept. 15, said  high-profile inmates, and not the government, were already in control of the New Bilibid Prison.

At sila pa nagdi-direct ng operation ng droga sa labas,” Lacson said in a dzbb interview.

According to Lacson, the situation inside the NBP “has gone so bad na naging helpless na ang gobyerno.”

Even when in prison, he said inmates can   hire killers.

Eighty percent of the illegal drug transactions, he said, also take place inside the NBP.

Earlier, inmate and former Valencia, Bukidnon Mayor Jose Galario Jr. testified in a Senate inquiry probing the problems in the Bureau of Corrections that illegal drug transactions  would take place in Ward 3 of the NBP hospital.

Lacson also said based on reports received by his office,  inmates could avoid prison life by paying from P200,000 to P2 million to be confined in the NBP hospital.
