3.9-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte
(Eagle News) — A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Monday, Oct. 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers northeast of Anao-aon, San Francisco at 6:33 a.m. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. An intensity II was felt in Surigao City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over M. Manila, other areas
(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over Metro Manila and other areas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with possible lightning and strong winds are also expected over Bulaca, Rizal and Quezon within the next one to two hours. “All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
