Water service interruptions due to work in Quirino pipeline to hit some Caloocan, QC barangays starting Monday, Oct. 28

(Eagle News)–Some Maynilad Water customers in Caloocan and Quezon City should brace themselves for water service interruptions starting Monday, Oct. 28.

In a statement, Maynilad said Barangays 167 to 178 in Caloocan and Barangays Kaligayahan, Pasong Putik, Greater Lagro and San Agustin in Quezon City will particularly be affected by the interruptions starting 2 p.m.

Maynilad said the interruptions  will end on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6 a.m.

According to the water concessionaire, the disruptions was in view of  the insertion of a new 3.3-ft butterly  valve to the existing 3.3-ft diameter primary line at Quirino Highway corner Bagong Buwan St., Pasong Putik as part of Maynilad’s “continuous efforts to improve water services in the West Zone.”

Maynilad said these water service interruptions were apart from the water interruption schedule that is already being implemented and that will resume upon completion of the work in Pasong Putik on Tuesday.

Maynilad added several factors can lead to  a delay in the resumption of water service.

These include the  area’s elevation, its distance from Maynilad pumping stations, and the volume of withdrawal from the mainlines.

“Upon resumption of the water service, customers should let the water flow out for a few seconds until the water clears,” Maynilad said.

The water concessionaire  urged the public to store enough water for the duration of the water service interruptions.

It said, however, that it would have  water tankers on standby in case.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your support and understanding,” Maynilad said.
