#WalangPasok: Classes in Sorsogon suspended on Monday, Tuesday as PHL braces for “Tisoy”

(Eagle News)– Classes on Monday, Dec. 2, and on Tuesday, Dec. 3, are suspended in Sorsogon.

Sorsogon Gov. Chiz Escudero said in Executive Order No. 77-2019 that the suspension, which applies to all levels in both public and private schools, was in view of the expected entry into the Philippine Area of Responsibility of typhoon “Kammuri,” which will then be called “Tisoy.”

Escudero noted that based on the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s forecast, the weather disturbance may intensify into a supertyphoon and may affect areas including Bicol region on Tuesday, Dec. 3, and Wednesday, Dec. 4.

He noted the provincial disaster risk reduction and management office’s meeting on Friday, Nov. 29, and plans to ensure zero casualty and mitigate danger in the province.

“The executive order shall take effect immediately upon its issuance as stated hereunder,” he said.
