#WalangPasok: Classes in Pampanga suspended from Dec. 4 to 10 due to SEA Games

(Eagle News) — The Pampanga provincial government has suspended classes in the province from December 4 to 10.

In an executive order signed on Thursday, Nov. 28, Governor Dennis Pineda said the suspension at all levels in all public and private schools was to give way to the expected influx of people and vehicles to the province for the international sporting event.

Pineda said the suspension, which was recommended by Interior Secretary Eduardo Año, was also to “enable the youth to participate in this historic event and support our athletes.”

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said he was not keen on having classes suspended during the SEA Games, saying this was “too long.”

The Department of Education has already suspended classes on selected days in six public schools in Pasay, Pasig and Manila to give way to the biennial event.
