VP candidate Bongbong Marcos files formal request for election systems audit

(Eagle News) — The camp of vice presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has formally asked the Commission on Elections for a systems audit of the automated elections.

Atty. Jose Amor Amorado, who heads Marcos’ quick-count center, went to the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila on Wednesday (May 18) —to formally request for a poll systems audit.

This was following the alleged irregularities in the tabulated partial and unofficial results of the May 9 polls.

Marcos made the appeal to ensure that there was no connivance between the Comelec and the outgoing administration to favor its vice presidential candidate, Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo.

Congressman Jonathan Dela Cruz said there was a clear breach of protocol on the side of Smartmatic, when they altered the hash code of the Comelec’s transparency server.
