Typhoon “Lando” maintains strength as it moves in Northeast direction

As of 7:00 am today October 20, the center of Severe Tropical Storm “Lando” was estimated based on all available data at 100 km Northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (19.0°N, 120.1°E), the weather bureau said in its weather forecast.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that stormy weather is expected over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Apayao, Batanes, northern Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Rains with gusty winds will prevail over Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela and the rest of the regions of Ilocos, of Cordillera and of Cagayan.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Central Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country.

PAGASA also added that light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Batangas (Lipa, San Jose, Lipa, Rosario) and portions of Pampanga, Cavite and Laguna which may persist for 1-2 hours. These information are based on tropical cyclone track, current radar trends and all available meteorological data.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northwest to west will prevail over the rest of Luzon and coming from the southwest over Visayas and Mindanao with moderate to rough seas.
