Typhoon Gorio heading for Taiwan, to exit Philippines Sunday morning

(Eagle News) – Typhoon Gorio is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Sunday morning (July 30), as it heads towards Taiwan, according to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin.

As of 10 a.m. today (July 29), the eye of typhoon Gorio was located at 335 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 145 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 180 kph.

By Sunday morning, it is forecast to be at 480 kilometers north northwest of Basco, Batanes which is already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

PAGASA, the country’s weather bureau, said rains with gusty winds will prevail over Batanes Group of Islands.

Monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides is also expected over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.

Metro Manila will only have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will also be experienced over rest of Central Luzon and rest of Cagayan Valley.
