Two Wellmed dialysis scam whistleblowers arrested

(Eagle News)–The two people who revealed the dialysis scam in Wellmed clinic in Quezon City have been arrested.

Edwin Roberto and Leizel Santos de Leon were reportedly nabbed in connection with the estafa case filed against them over the processing of PhilHealth claims even of deceased patients at the clinic.

Roberto and De Leon had been admitted to the Witness Protection Program but they lost their privileges after the case was refiled with the Metropolitan Trial Court from the Regional Trial Court, Harry Roque, their lawyer, said in a radio interview.

The RTC had dismissed the case citing lack of jurisdiction.

A motion on the  status of Roberto and De Leon  in the WPP will reportedly be heard in court on Nov. 10.

Also charged with estafa was Wellmed co-owner Bryan Sy.
