Tugade orders dismissal of Tarlac LTO chief linked to illegal drugs

(Eagle News) — Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade on Thursday, May 10, ordered the relief of the Tarlac Land Transportation Office chief who was arrested in an operation conducted by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police on May 8.

In a statement, Tugade also ordered LTO chief Edgar Galvante to probe Rodel Yambao  for corruption.

Tugade said.

He said there was “zero tolerance” for illegal activities in the department.

Authorities implementing a search warrant found nine sachets of suspected shabu,  bullets and a hand grenade in the house of Yambao in  Barangay San Roque.

The police had applied for the warrant after Yambao, who had been under surveillance, was listed as a high-value target

Charges for possession of illegal drugs and for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition have been filed against him.
