TS “Perla” maintains strength as it moves slowly over PHL Sea

(Eagle News)–Tropical Storm “Perla” has maintained its strength as it moved slowly over the Philippine Sea.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Perla” was estimated at 775 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

It is moving north northwest slowly.

No tropical cyclone wind signal is in effect but occasional gusty conditions may prevail over Extreme Northern Luzon until early next week due to the prevailing northeasterly surface wind flow.

Sea travel  is risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the seaboards of Northern Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions associated with the northeasterly surface wind flow, PAGASA said.
