Tropical Storm “Ramon” approaches extreme N. Luzon slowly

(Eagle News)–Tropical Storm “Ramon” is moving slowly as it approaches extreme Northern Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said  as of 4 p.m., the center of “Ramon” was estimated 285 kilometers east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of up to 65 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

It is moving west at 15 kph.

Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Cagayan including Babuyan Island, Apayao, Isabela and the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran and Dinalungan).

Today, light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains may be experienced over the eastern portions of Cagayan and Isabela.

Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea craft, over the seaboards of areas under a storm signal, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, and the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon due to prevailing or forecast rough sea conditions.

The low pressure area monitored by PAGASA was last spotted 2,210 km east of Visayas.
