(Eagle News)—–The low-pressure area east of Mindanao has developed into a Tropical Depression and has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Usman” entered PAR at 3 p.m.
As of 4 p.m., the eye of “Usman” was located 945 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
It is moving northwest at 20 kilometers per hour.
According to PAGASA, while “Usman” has so far no direct effect on the country, it may bring moderate to heavy rains to Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands beginning Wednesday evening or Thursday evening.
“Residents of those areas… are advised to take precautionary measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction management offices, and continue monitoring for updates,” PAGASA said.
