(Eagle News) — An abandoned trolley bag in a portion of Roxas Boulevard in Manila caused panic on Thursday, Nov. 14, among residents in the area who believed it contained a bomb.

The Manila Police District had to deploy members of its Special Weapons and Tactics and Explosives and Ordnance units to the location of the bag in the corner of Padre Faura St. to check.

The area was also cordoned off to motorists.

Past 7 a.m., the area was, however, declared cleared.

The alleged owner of the bag, Josephine Catama of Norzagaray, Bulacan, who later arrived in the scene, said she found out she had lost the item upon waking up at a nearby footbridge, where she spent the night.

She said she had planned on applying for a job in Makati.

According to Catama, she lost her cellphone and other belongings as well. Madz Moratillo
