Transport group thumbs down calls for P9 minimum jeepney fare

(Eagle News)–The Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations  is opposing calls for a minimum jeepney fare of P9.

According to ACTO, “ang panukalang ibalik sa dating pamasahe na P9.00 ay malabo na dahil naglabas ng permanent decision si Chairman Delgra III at si Board Member Ronaldo Corpus …”

According to ACTO, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board allowed a P2 increase from the earlier P8 minimum fare.

It said this was even less than the P4 increase they had been requesting, amid the increase in fuel prices.

Prices of fuel, however, have recently been going down, prompting the Department of Transportation to call for a review of the fare increase.
