Transfer of Malacañang to Mindanao sought

MANILA, Philippines (Eagle News) — Instead of pushing for a federal form of government, Kabayan Party List Rep. Harry Roque is suggesting the transfer of the Malacañang palace in Mindanao.

Roque said Maguindanao is the focus of tension between the military troops and rebel forces and should be a perfect place to transfer the palace.

He also said, this would serve as restitution for all the violence the people of Mindanao have been experiencing for decades.

Meanwhile, Bicol Partylist Rep. Rodel Batocabe, said that even other government agencies should consider transferring to Mindanao.

He cited the Department of Agriculture should be relocated to agricultural provinces, while the Department of Environment and Natural Resources should be relocated to Palawan.

He said the transfer of these agencies to other provinces would alleviate the traffic problem in Metro Manila.
