Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao.

Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are therefore expected over Misamis Oriental, Davao, Davao Oriental, Agusan del Sur,  Agusan del Norte, and South Cotabato within the next  hours.

These  conditions are already being experienced in Bukidnon, in Manolo Fortich, Sumilao, Impasug-ong, Malaybalay, Malitbog, Baungon, Talakag, Libona; in  Lanao del Norte, in Iligan, Tagoloan, Baloi, Pantar, Munai;  in Lanao del Sur in Marawi, Kapai, TagoloanII, Bubong; in Davao del Norte in Kapalong, Talaingod, New Corella, Tagum, Panabo, Carmen; in Compostela Valley in Montevista, Nabunturan, Mawab, Maco, Mabini, Marugasan; in Zamboanga del Sur in Pagadian, Tigbao, Bayog, Lakewood; in Zamboanga del Norte in Tampilisan, Baliguian, Gutalac, Siayan, in Leon Postigo, in Sindangan; and in Zamboanga Sibugay, in Ipil, Naga, Kabasalan, Siay.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said these conditions may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
