Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Agusan del Sur, Maguindanao and Surigao del Norte within the next 1 to 2 hours.

The conditions are being experienced in North Cotabato, particularly in Arakan, Magpet, President Roxas; in Surigao del Sur, particularly in Bislig, Lungig, Barobo and San Agustin; in  Davao Oriental, particularly in Boston and Baganga; and in Davao de Oro, particularly in New Bataan.

The conditions may persist within one to two hours and may affect nearby areas.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impact associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” PAGASA said.
