TD “Samuel” moves off southern coast of Antique; heads toward Sulu Sea

(Eagle News) — Signal No. 1 has been lifted over  northern Cebu as Tropical Depression “Samuel” moves off the southern coast of Antique and heads toward the Sulu Sea.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said as of 1 p.m., the center of Tropical Depression “Samuel” was located 70 kilometers west southwest of Iloilo City, Iloilo or 120 kilometers east southeast of Cuyo, Palawan.

It is packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kilometers per hour, as it moves west southwest at 40 kilometers per hour.

SIgnal No. 1 has been hoisted over Romblon, Southern Occidental Mindoro, Southern Oriental Mindoro and Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo groups of islands, Northern Negros Occidental, Guimaras,Iloilo,Capiz Aklan.

Moderate to heavy rains, which may trigger flooding and landslides, are also expected over MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, Aurora, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanduanes, PAGASA said.
