May develop into tropical storm within 24 hours
(Eagle News)–Tropical Depression “Liwayway” has slightly intensified as it moved in a west-northwest direction.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said “Liwayway,” which is located 335 kilometers northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar or 365 km east of Virac, Catanduanes, remains less likely to make landfall in the country but may develop into a tropical storm within 24 hours.
PAGASA said the trough of “Liwayway” may bring scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers over Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Central Visayas.
The southwest monsoon, on the other hand, will bring scattered light to moderate rains with at times heavy rain showers over Palawan and Western Visayas.
Sea travel is risky over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, the western seaboard of Central Luzon, and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and Visayas due to “potentially rough sea conditions,” PAGASA said.
