Taytay, Rizal confirms 2 COVID-19 cases, including one death

(Eagle News)–The municipality of Taytay in Rizal has confirmed two coronavirus disease 2019 cases, including one death.

In a Facebook post, the municipal government said the fatality was a woman from Barangay San Juan whose remains have been cremated in the St. Peter Crematory.

The Research Institute for Tropical Medicine later confirmed she tested positive for COVID-19.

The second case was also from Barangay San Juan who went straight to a private hospital after exhibiting symptoms.

The municipal government said the families of the two cases were already in quarantine.

It said the Taytay Municipal Health Office would conduct disinfection and fumigation procedures in the areas of residences of the patients.

All persons were ordered to stay in their homes, saying policemen and barangay personnel would ensure that no one could go outside except to purchase basic needs.

“Seryosohin po natin ang panganib ng COVID-19 sa ating bayan,” the municipal government said.
