Task Force Bangon Marawi gives assurance Marawi rehab “will not be affected” by HUDCC secretary-general’s dismissal

(Eagle News) — Task Force Bangon Marawi on Friday, Nov. 23, said they would not let the termination of Falconi Millar “distract (their) continuing efforts” to rehabilitate war-torn Marawi.

The task force noted the preparations being undertaken for the fourth Kawiyagan, a livelihood convergence initiative, on November 29, among others.

“The unwavering commitment of member agencies and stakeholders in this work continues to be the nucleus of government effort in bringing affected families and communities back on its feet and the battered city to normalcy,” the task force said.

“We are one with the President in saying that the Marawi rehabilitation will not be affected and we give our full assurance to the public and the people of Marawi that services will not falter towards total recovery,” it added.

Millar was head of the secretariat of the inter-agency task force that oversees the rehabilitation of Marawi when he was sacked by President Rodrigo Duterte due to corruption.

Millar has denied any wrongdoing, saying the allegations were part of an ongoing demolition job against him.
