Number-coding scheme lifted effective 3 p.m. today

(Eagle News)–The number-coding scheme is lifted effective 3 p.m. today, Aug. 9. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority made the announcement via Twitter, amid the inclement weather brought about by an enhanced southwest monsoon. Earlier, the Palace suspended work in government offices and classes in Metro Manila. The memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the suspension was effective 3 p.m. The MMDA said the number-coding scheme, however, still applies in Makati.

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light  to moderate rains are being experienced in Baler, Casiguran, Dingalan and Dilasag in Aurora; Alfonso, Castaneda in Nueva Vizcaya; and in Diffun in Quirino. (Eagle News) – The Southwest monsoon is still affecting extreme Northern Luzon, PAGASA said. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, forecasters said. Possible flashfloods and landslides could occur during severe thunderstorms. PAGASA said there is no low pressure area within the country, and there is no LPA seen outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)

  (Eagle News) – The Southwest Monsoon is affecting extreme Northern Luzon which could bring rains in the area, according to the country’s weather bureau, PAGASA, Monday, July 8. Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening because of localized thunderstorms, forecasters said.
