(Eagle News) – A strong magnitude 5.0 quake rocked Batanes at 10:53 a.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 16, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) which warned of aftershocks. 5.1-magnitude earthquake jolts Cagayan

(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Cagayan on Thursday, Aug. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:32 a.m., had its epicenter 73 kilometers northwest of Calayan. It was of tectonic origin, and had a depth of 40 kilometers. Damage to property was not expected but aftershocks were.

5.5-magnitude quake strikes off Batanes

(Eagle News)–A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes on Thursday, Aug. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 6:32 a.m., had its epicenter 49 kilometers southwest of Sabtang. The earthquake was of tectonic origin, and  had a depth of 14 kilometers. No damage to property was expected but aftershocks were.

4.0-magnitude quake hits Masbate early Tuesday

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake hit Masbate early Tuesday, Aug. 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:43 a.m., had its epicenter 10 kilometers northeast of Cataingan. It had a depth of 71 kilometers. An instrumental Intensity I was reported in Naval, Biliran. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.0-magnitude quake hits Isabela early Monday, Aug. 10

(Eagle News)–A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Isabela early Monday, Aug. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck at 1:52 a.m. It had its epicenter 117 kilometers northeast of Divilacan. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Wednesday, Aug. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 9:30 a.m. It had its epicenter 12 kilometers southwest of Bayabas. According to PHIVOLCS, the quake had a depth of four kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
