Classes, work suspended in Santiago City, Isabela

(Eagle News) – -The Santiago City government in Isabela has suspended government and private work on Friday, Sept. 14, as “Ompong” threatens parts of the country. Classes were also suspended in the city, Memorandum Order 2018-42 signed by Mayor Joseph Salvador Tan  said. The suspension applies to all levels, in both public and private schools. Thunderstorm warning hoisted over Metro Manila, nearby provinces

(Eagle News) — A thunderstorm warning has been hoisted over Metro Manila and other nearby provinces. In an advisory issued at 1:21 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds were expected over the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Nueva Ecija and Cavite within the next two hours. (Eagle News)–The low pressure area spotted north of Basco, Batanes has developed into a Tropical Depression, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. PAGASA: Typhoon “Jebi” may enter PAR on Sunday night but “no significant enhancement” of southwest monsoon expected

(Eagle News)—-Another typhoon may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday, Sept. 2, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. PAGASA said, however, that “Jebi,” whose eye was seen 1815 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon as of 11 a.m.,  poses no direct threat to any part of the country. It said “no significant enhancement of the southwest monsoon” was also expected. “Jebi” may exit PAR on Monday morning.

Possible LPA monitored by PAGASA

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric  Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has monitored two weather systems outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. PAGASA said Typhoons Soulik and Cimaron, however, will have no direct effect in the  country and is not expected to enter PAR. Orange rainfall warning hoisted over Zambales

(Eagle News)–An orange rainfall warning has been hoisted over Zambales, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said on Monday, Aug. 20. PAGASA said a yellow rainfall warning, on the other hand, is up over Bataan. Light to moderate rains with occasional heavy rains are currently affecting Metro Manila, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac , Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Cavite and Batangas. The state weather bureau said these may persist for  two to three hours.
