(Eagle News)–Lucio “Bong” Tan, Jr., son and namesake of business tycoon Lucio Tan, has passed away. Tan died at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center at 8:48 a.m. due to brain herniation, two days after he was confined after collapsing during a basketball game. The Philippine’s flag carrier expanded its operation in Davao City to accommodate more clients from adjacent municipalities and provinces, opening a new branch in this Southern city. Palace welcomes PAL payment of P6B worth of dues

Businessman Washington Sycip passes away at 96

(Eagle News) — Businessman Washington Sycip passed away on Saturday night. Former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima made the announcement on his Twitter account. According to Purisima, Sycip passed away “enroute to New York.” He was 96 years old. SyCip, a philanthropist, founded SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co, an accounting, tax and auditing firm, in 1946. He also founded the Asian Institute of Management. The accountant turned 96 last June 30.  

PAL, gov’t agree to settle flag carrier’s debt issue with P6.91-billion payment
