PAL expands in Davao City

The Philippine’s flag carrier expanded its operation in Davao City to accommodate more clients from adjacent municipalities and provinces, opening a new branch in this Southern city.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) now has three branches in Davao City, and aims to increase its presence in more destinations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Davao City mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio lauded PAL’s expansion in the city, which is one of the airline’s busiest routes.

She said “Dabawenyos” are working hard for their city to “become competitive and be put in the map of the ASEAN community and not just the Philippine community.”

PAL President and COO Jaime Bautista said the opening of the new branch showed their commitment to continue serving their riding passengers from Davao and the adjoining municipalities.

Bautista said, Davao is PAL’s busiest route with eight daily flights from Manila and two to three flights daily to Cebu.

PAL is also planning to operate a Davao-Siargao route.

The airline is also expecting the delivery of two brand new 777 300 ER aircrafts this December that would fly from Manila to US, London and Canada.  (with a report from PNA)
