(Eagle News) — The Manila Regional Trial Court has issued hold departure orders against the foreigners indicted over the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess. 900 sacks of rice found rotting inside Tacloban NFA warehouse

(Eagle News) — At least 900 sacks of rice grains have been found rotting inside the National Food Authority (NFA) warehouse in Tacloban City. The shipment, which was seized in 2014 and then kept in the warehouse for four years, was no longer fit for consumption, according to the NFA. Customs agents seize P2.1 million worth of smuggled “ukay ukay” clothes

By Jerold Tagbo Eagle News Service The Bureau of Customs on Wednesday, April 11, announced it has seized P2.1 million worth of smuggled “ukay ukay” clothes from the Manila International Container Terminal. Customs Commissioner Isidro Lapena said the clothes from Hong Kong were concealed in balikbayan boxes, which were declared as containing household goods and personal items. Duterte appoints new BOC assistant commissioner

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has a new assistant commissioner. President Rodrigo Duterte appointed  Vincent Philip Maronilla to the post previously held by Ariel Nepomuceno. Nepomuceno resigned in March. Maronilla and several other Customs officials were implicated in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment mess in May but were cleared by a Department of Justice panel of prosecutors for lack of probable cause.

Four importers, brokers charged for “gross undervaluation, large-scale agricultural smuggling”

(Eagle News)—The Bureau of Customs filed on Monday charges against four importers and brokers for “gross undervaluation of imports and large-scale agricultural smuggling.” Charged were owners and customs brokers of Granstar Premiere Sports Corporation and Seven Myth Marketing. Fabian Go, Granstar’s owner, and customs broker Norinel Quezana were charged in connection with the illegal shipment of 112 units of brand new Vespa scooters that originated from Singapore and arrived at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone. (Eagle News) — The Bureau of Customs has intercepted P8.98 million worth of misdeclared goods from the Port of Manila. In a statement on Monday, the BoC said the two-footer vans were intercepted upon their arrival in February and December last year. The shipment that contained cigarettes arrived on February 21. (Eagle News) — Customs agents arrested a man who claimed a package containing smuggled marijuana oil or “kush oil” at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City. Manila court orders transfer of Taguba to PNP jail

(Eagle News) — The Manila Regional Trial Court on Friday ordered the transfer of Customs broker Mark Ruben Taguba to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, citing security reasons.
