Customs agents arrest man who claimed smuggled “marijuana oil” at Pasay mailing center

(Eagle News) — Customs agents arrested a man who claimed a package containing smuggled marijuana oil or “kush oil” at the Central Mail Exchange Center in Pasay City.

In a statement on Thursday, the Bureau of Customs said Beau Aldrich Siquian, 24, was nabbed on Feb. 28, after he presented his passport as proof of his identity to claim the package, which had been opened because of its “pungent odor.”

The Customs bureau said Siquian had declared the package– which arrived in the country on Feb. 26 and was shipped by a certain Jonjon Pulido from California—as containing  an electrical pen set and ink wax  worth $300 instead.

“These drug pushers are exhausting all means to smuggle illegal drugs in the country, they even send drugs through couriers,” BoC Commissioner Isidro Lapena said.

He said Siquian and the kush oil have been turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The Customs chief said that he has also directed all his agents at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to be stricter.

“There will be more apprehensions by the Bureau of Customs as we are implementing stricter border security,” he said.
