National gov’t posts P29.9 billion budget surplus in August

MANILA, Sept. 26 (PIA/DOF) —   The national government has posted a budget surplus of P29.9 billion in August  Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima reported. BOC seven-month revenue collection grows 18%

MANILA, September 1 (PNA) — Revenue collection of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in the first seven months of 2014 grew by 18 percent or Php203.86 billion year-on-year. In a statement, the bureau said that the growth was posted from January to July this year, due to the continued improvements in valuation as well as a marginal increase in the volume of imported goods. BOC Extends Port Operations in Manila

The Bureau of Customs extended the operating hours of the Port of Manila and the Manila International Container Port to help those affected by the truck ban in Manila. Customs commissioner John Sevilla said that since Thursday,operations in the two ports started at 8 am., and ended at 9 p.m.  On Saturdays, operations start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m.
